Safety and Privacy.
YouthVoice is a moderated space. The Youth Board reads every answer before anything is shared, and everything here exists to lift up the places and people that make young people feel like they belong.

Every answer, pin, and voice is read by the Youth Board before it shows up anywhere. The board looks for what’s working, the places and people that help young people feel connected, and turns that into briefs for the people who can make those places even better.
When You Need More Support
If something on your mind needs more than a pin can give, these people are ready to help, day or night:
- 988: call or text for someone to talk to, any time.
- 911: for an emergency.
- Say Something, 1-844-572-9669: to report a threat, bullying, or someone at risk.
If an answer tells us someone could be hurt, the conversation shows these resources right away and the answer stays private. A board member lets the board chair and a parent or guardian know the same day, so the right people can help.
Keeping It Positive
If an answer goes somewhere off topic, like swearing, drugs, or hate, the peer voice on the site steers back to the question and shares the resources above. Those answers aren’t used in briefs.
What We Keep
- Your answer, as text, and your recording until the brief it belongs to is published.
- The perspective you pick.
- Your zip code if you share it. Location is rounded to your zip, never your exact spot.
No name, no account, and no advertising or tracking cookies.
Redaction
Our redaction tool removes names, social handles, phone numbers, emails, and addresses from every transcript before any board member reads it. When an answer is played back, those moments are muted. Published briefs use quotes, never names.
Who Sees It
Only Youth Board members see answers before they’re published. No agency, city, or business gets the full list.
Services We Use
To turn speech into text and to write follow-up questions, your answer is processed by ElevenLabs (speech) and Anthropic (follow-ups). They process it to provide those features only.
Ages
If you’re 12 or under, a parent or guardian says OK before you share.
Your Privacy, Honestly
We never ask for your name. Voices can still be recognized, so leave out anything you want to keep to yourself.
